Life Skills/ES: Painted Snowflakes

My Life Skills and Emotional Support classes created these expressive snowflake paintings! I use masking tape to create a snowflake on each paper before they arrived. The students worked on their fine motor skills to cover the whole paper with tempera paint. When dry, I peeled off the tape to reveal their snowflakes!

  1. Hi,
I want to thank you for your blog!! I'm not much of an artist but have to teach art to my class (we don't have an art teacher:( ). I have gotten some amazing ideas from your website. Your blog is bookmarked and I look here when I'm planning art projects.
I do have a question.....what type of paper are you using when you put tape on it? I've had tape not come of that well and think I'm probably using the wrong paper

    1. Hi DeeAnne!
Thank you for your nice comment :) I just using regular drawing paper. The tape does tend to tear a little bit. You can always use painters tape.. that might come off easier.
