I love doing self-portraits with first grade! It's great to see how much they end up looking like them in the end. To start, I talked about common mistakes made when drawing a face (L-shaped noses, eyes on foreheads, etc.) then I show my students how to divide their face to draw their features in the correct place. They then add color with crayons and watercolors.
Nice collection of portraits! Their parents will cherish these!
